Nutrition

Many people we see in our practice have eaten themselves into their current state of ill health, to one degree or another. The deficiencies or imbalances lead to a breakdown in resistance, or immunity, and a loss of the ability to cope with environmental stresses.

The good news is that it is possible to reverse the process! Each cell, tissue, and organ in your body is in the process of replacing itself every day, month, and year. The health of each organ is dependent on making the correct nutrients available to upgrade or to maintain the health of the body at a cellular level. We analyze our patient's nutritional status and recommend the necessary diet changes. We also provide our patients with the correct supplements to help them achieve their optimum health.

We determine our patient's nutritional needs by gathering information through a number of means.
First our patients complete a detailed health questionnaire and a complete diet history is recorded. Then further questions
are asked and the patient's needs are discussed. After this background information is obtained a thorough analysis is done. The primary method we use to analyze the patients nutritional needs is Nutritional Response Testing. We also use a computer program called Nutritec (see below). We also utilize a Nutritional Exam which looks for various reflexes and signs that can indicate nutritional needs. In addition we may also use other methods such as Hair Analysis and the Heart Rate Variability Monitor.

Nutritional Response Testing

Nutritional Response Testing (NRT) is a method of analyzing the patients current health and nutritional status. The analysis is done through testing specific neurologic reflexes and acupuncture points. These points and reflexes relate to the state of health and to the energy flow in each and every organ, gland and function of the body. By testing the Nutritional Response Testing reflexes, we have a system of monitoring your body at each visit. This has proven to be extremely accurate clinically, and that helps us identify exactly what the body needs and how well we are meeting that need.

Nutritec Computer Analysis

Another method of nutritional analysis we use is Nutritec computer software. After our patients fill out a detailed questionaire of over 200 questions the responses are entered into the Nutritec program. The Nutritec program calculates the responses and gives our patients a detailed report of findings showing areas of deficiency and a list of recommended supplements that may help to resolve their conditions.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) testing is a measure of total health and fitness. This is
ideal for monitoring the progress of the patient’s treatment program as comparisons can be made between initial testing and testing after treatment has begun. We use the Nerve-Express computer-based system for quantitative assessment of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) analysis. The algorithms used by Nerve-Express have been developed and tested for over twenty years in studies involving more than twenty thousand patients.

We also use HRV to determine:
    1. Early signs of development of pathological processes.
    2. The presence of a functional disorder.
    3. The level of physical fitness.
     4. Treatment effectiveness.

The test is very simple to use. First, the patient lies down for a few minutes with a chest strap sensor applied to their chest, which is linked to a computer. After a few minutes the subject stands up and remains standing for a few more minutes. During the test the monitoring device downloads the test data into the computer, where results are calculated by the Nerve-Express system.

Report of Findings.

Typically this report is given on the on the next visit. The doctor will take the time to explain the findings, review your X-rays and give you his recommendations for care.

“One of the biggest tragedies of human civilization is he precedence of chemical therapy over nutrition. It’s a substitution of artificial therapy over natural, of poisons over food, in which we are feeding people poison in trying to correct the reactions of starvation."
